Luminaries

These would make great table numbers and by the look of them they are easy to make.  Just print onto a decent quality thick tracing paper and wrap round a glass candle holder or tumbler (IKEA?) then use double sided sticky tape to seal at the back.  They look great when the candle is lit and the light shines through.

more lovely dresses - just too much to choose from!

Love this colour and the style is great too.

How to Make a Fabric Rose

There are so many great blogs out there and this is from just one of them.  Can't wait to have a go - don't know whether to make them part of the decorations or a smaller version to customise my shoes.....

'MAID' TO MEASURE

Just came across a site of nice made to measure bridesmaid dresses - WITH sleeves too.  Yay.  Why are all wedding dresses strapless?!  Brrr.

Here's a selection from their site (http://bridesmaidtailor.com/store) and they are only $99 which seems reasonable for a dress sewn to fit and not just off the peg (ignore the colours)....

very Jayne Eyre!

PHOTOGRAPHER BOOKED!

After many hours on the internet and much deliberation, we have chosen and booked our photographer - hurray!  It was a lot harder than we thought to find someone who's style we both liked but we got there in the end.  We found Graeme Brown through a recommendation from Suzanne Black, a photographer who was at the Perth wedding fair but who wasn't available on our date.

There are not many photographers in Scotland who have a creative "modern vintage" style (if that even makes sense!)  I like how even the posed photos have a more informal and relaxed feel about them.

I think a lot of the work can also be in the post-production stage and this is where some photographers seem to fall down, but not Graeme - I think it's one of his strengths. Some don't seem to do any, some go over the top and do too much (soft focus *shudder*) and Graeme gets it just right.....

love the colour, composition and the fact that it's not over posed
a great detail shot.
another good one, different to the norm.
looks like a great comedy moment there.
a picture that told a story for the couple (who were emigrating)
everyone is usually looking at the bride so this is a nice shot from the groom's point of view
Love the vintage feel of this photo
just the kind of thing we're looking for,
something a bit different.
